Framingham snow emergency parking: the odd/even rule and snow arteries
Two parking rules matter in a Framingham winter: the year-round odd/even side rule, and the stricter rule when a snow emergency is declared.
The short answer
- Framingham uses an odd/even side rule year-round: park on the even side in even years.
- In a snow emergency, no parking on either side of posted snow arteries.
- Cars left on snow arteries in an emergency are ticketed and towed.
The year-round odd/even side rule
Framingham's on-street parking follows an odd/even rule all year. In even-numbered years, park on the even-numbered side of the street; in odd years, the odd side.
What changes when a snow emergency is declared
During a declared snow emergency, there is no parking on either side of posted snow arteries. Vehicles left there are ticketed and towed.
Snow arteries are posted with signs, so check the signs on your street and the next main road over.
A driveway plan makes the parking rule easy
The cars that get towed are often the ones that couldn't get into a driveway. A driveway cleared early means the car is off the street before the plows come.
If your driveway holds more cars than you can shovel out in time, that is the job to hand off.
